Egg coffee – special drink in Hanoi

Egg coffee - or 'ca phe trung' - is a blend of coffee and egg whites, folded with sugar, drunk hot or cold. The very first cup of egg coffee was made in early 20th century by Nguyen Van Giang, who used to be a barista at the 5-star Sofitel Legend Metropole hotel. The great-grandfather Giang had turned the western Cappuccino into ‘egg coffee’ made of familiar ingredients and developed the recipe in days when milk was very scarce in Vietnam. Vietnamese boy born without arms won’t let anything hold him back

A ten-year-old boy born without arms in Vietnam refuses to give in to his physical handicap, conquering everyday activities with his ‘magical feet.’ Ten-year-old Ha Van Tai lives in the small village of Kim Dau in Cam Lo District, Quang Tri Province on the central coast. Tai was born with neither of his arms, forcing him to rely on his flexible feet in order to perform daily tasks such as brushing teeth, writing, or turning pages in a book.
