  The Saigon Classical Music Group will perform at the “Recollection” concert at the HCM City Southern Women’s Museum on September 17.   The concert will open with compositions by Bach, Haydn, Brahms, César and Ketèbey. The event will continue with works by Vietnamese composers Nguyễn Thành Nhựt and Hoàng Cương, along with composers Scriabin, Chopin, Brahms and Saint-Saens.   The performance will feature young musicians, including pianists La Quế Anh, Thiên Cát Vũ and Đặng Trí Dũng, and violinist Đan Cát Vũ.   The concert will begin at 7pm at 202 Võ Thị Sáu Street in District 3. A water puppetry performance by the Rex Sen Vang Theater - PHOTO: HUY NGUYEN Rex Sen Vang Theater will debut its first water puppetry and cultural performance program at the Vertical Garden of the five-star Rex Hotel Saigon in District 1, HCMC at 8 p.m. on September 17. The show will start with a performance featuring the art of classical theater or hat boi which was born in Vietnam 700 years ago, an imperial Hue-style dance which was known in the country 500 years ago, a performance of chau van – hau dong (a traditional singing style of northern Vietnamese with a 400-year history and a solo performance of stone musical instruments of the Central Highlands dating back to 2,000 years.
