Linh Son ancient pagoda is an ancient pagoda located on Hoang Hoa Tham street, ward 2, Vung Tau city. In the central chamber, there is a Buddhist statue with height of 1.2m which was made of stone and covered with gold and carved very skillfully.
The legend says that more than 100 years ago, a Ship crew entered Bai Truoc for fishing and when they climbed on Lon mountain to fetch firewood, they accidentally found out there were two Buddhist statues made of stone hidden under the soil and stone on the mountain side near Bai Dau . They together excavated the statues and held a ceremony to take them home. However the local people knew and prevented them to do that because that was the historical relic of the local people so they determined to keep these statues. Then the fisher people in the Central people were permitted to receive graciously the small statue to worship and the big statue was moved by the local people to the Central Chamber. That was the statue in Linh Son pagoda at the present.
