Minh Dam mountain is a luxuriant forest with many stone caves where was the military base for Ba Ria - Vung Tau people and military in two wars against France and America.
In 1948, to commemorate two Secretaries of Long Dat district Party Committee Bui Cong Minh and Mac Thanh Dam who sacrificed under the mountain foot, the people named the mountain Minh Dam. In 1993, Minh Dam base was recognized by Ministry of Culture and Information as the historical and revolution relic. Minh Dam today is an ideal destination for many different tourism methods such as ecological tourism, outdoor tourism, mountain climbing and returning to traditional moral values tourism to educate the revolution traditions for the young generation today.
