It’s hard to imagine Blue Gecko without its affable owner, “Simmo” Nguyen, a Saigon local
with a broader Australian accent than you’ll nd in outback Australia. The bar’s been built
on Simmo’s hospitality.
The neon sign out front of Blue Gecko reads “non members only” and that captures nicely
the place's unpretentious welcome.
A good many Australian expats have made Blue Gecko their second home since its
opening in the late 90s - which explains Simmo’s accent.
